Lyrics In Kannada :

Meaning of the song:

Friends, bring (tannire) the milk (hAla) and pour it on the snake god (tani ereyONa)
Today (iMde) is the auspicious day (puNya dina) to pay-off (tIripa) mother's (tAya)  milk debt (hAla RuNa)

(On the day of Nagara chaturthi/panchami, it is a ritual that girls, women used to pour the milk on anthill or on the stone sculpted with snake god - is known as 'tani ereyuvudu')

Let our elder/younger brothers (aNNatammadira) be live with happy/cool (taNNagirali bennu udara)
(bennu – back-side of the body, udara - stomach)
Mother's relation-ship (tAyi karuLu) should never be strained (nOyadiraleMdeMdu) who brought us on this earth (kAya nIDida)
Parent's home (tavarina) should always brighten (beLagaleMdeMdu) with glory (kIrti) and excellence (ghanate)

One relation (oMde basiru)(karuLa balli) and one breath (oMde usiru) shared together (hanchikoMDaMtha)
my (nanna) brother's (aNNana) life-lead (bALa baLLi) should never wither away (bADadiraleMdu)
His life should be filled (tuMbu jIvana) with joy/happiness (nalivina) forever (AgaleMdeMdu)

I don't know (yAvudU ariye) who is my father/who is my mother (taMde yAro tAyi yAro)
is there any dearth (koreyE) of happiness (saMtasake) when brother (aNNaniralu) is with me who resembles to GOD (dEvaraMtha)
I will never (eMdigU) forget (mareye) his (Atana) love (prIti) and affection (Adara)
